⁕ Introduction ⁕

My name is Indica DeRose. I am a non-binary visual storyteller with a love for creating beauty through exploring the inner workings of the mind and heart. My journey started at the age of 11. I pieced together horror stories using littlest pet shops as my cast. I built entire worlds from recycled materials, craft paper, and plenty of hot glue. I grew a fan base of other little kids who had a love for darker themes and found myself creating videos everyday. Around the age of 15, I knew I had to make the leap to capturing humans instead of my toys. I soon made my first non-littlest pet shop film, Are We?, marking the beginning of a new series of films I would create.

My work challenges the tired stories we’ve been fed for years. Particularly the glamorization of toxic dynamics, the erasure of queer voices, and the flattening of feminine characters into victims or archetypes.

I love to use color not only as an aesthetic choice, but as a narrative force. Color in my films is deliberate and symbolic, guiding the viewer’s subconscious response.

For me, film is not just a visual art. It is a ritual. A space to ask hard questions, offer new realities, and carve room for those still searching for reflections of themselves on screen. My artistic intentions are to spark reflection, inspiration, stir discomfort, and ultimately invoke change. I believe storytelling holds the power to not only expose what is hidden, but to inspire new realities.
